Harmony Speech Pathology began in 2013 with a simple vision: to provide meaningful, accessible, and high-quality support to children in their everyday environments. Founded by Fiona, Harmony grew from her early career working as a clinician in schools and her background in the field of psychology. Through this experience, Fiona developed a deep understanding of how early childhood learning, communication development, and emotional wellbeing are closely connected. She saw firsthand that building strong foundations early in life supports not only language development, but also confidence, behaviour, relationships, and long-term mental health. This holistic perspective has shaped the values and direction of Harmony from the very beginning.
In 2014, Dom joined the practice, bringing complementary clinical strengths and a shared passion for supporting children and families. As the service continued to grow, 2015 marked another important milestone with Andrew joining Harmony Speech. With his business development skills and accounting background, Andrew helped build strong business systems and sustainable structures that allowed the organisation to grow while maintaining its personalised, family-centred approach.
What began in a converted garage soon outgrew its humble beginnings. In 2016, Harmony moved into its first dedicated office space in Gateshead. Over the following years, the service continued to expand, building a team of passionate and skilled speech pathology clinicians. In 2022, Harmony proudly introduced Allied Health Assistants (AHAs), broadening service capacity and providing more flexible, accessible therapy options for families.
By 2024, demand for high-quality, holistic services had grown significantly, leading to an expansion into a two-level office space. This allowed for more clinicians, more programs, and a stronger presence within the community.
In 2025, Harmony Speech Pathology entered an exciting new chapter – transitioning into Quinn Health and Development, a multidisciplinary organisation created to better meet the diverse needs of individuals across the lifespan. Quinn brought together a wide range of professionals under one unified approach, including Speech Pathology, Occupational Therapy, Psychology, Behaviour Support, Support Workers, AHAs, and Employment Services. This evolution reflected our longstanding commitment to treating the whole person and supporting their communication, independence, and wellbeing.
Throughout our journey, quality and integrity have remained core pillars of our work. We have successfully completed every NDIS audit since the scheme was introduced and now have a dedicated NDIS Compliance Administrator to ensure our services consistently meet the highest standards of safety, professionalism, and person-centred care.
Looking ahead, 2026 marks another milestone as Quinn Health and Development prepares to expand once again, this time with a purpose-built, high-quality Physiotherapy and Occupational Therapy space. We will also begin developing innovative, supportive day programs designed to further enrich the lives and independence of the people we support.
From a converted garage to a thriving multidisciplinary hub, our growth has always been guided by the needs of our community and the belief that every person deserves the opportunity to communicate, connect, and thrive.
